Community Art Project: Honeycombs
To celebrate our bee friends, we’re going to adorn our facade with a honeycomb mural…and we want your help! Painting begins May 5 (First Friday) from 7 to 10 p.m. Painting will continue until nightfall. Come for the painting, stay for the live music and party!
Painting will continue each Saturday in May from 9 a.m. to noon. Pop over from the Farmers Market and say hello! We’re right across the street. We will have bread available for sale from the new Sunflour Bakehaus/Never Forgotten Bakery and Becky herself will be here to say hi!
Free Little Library/Seed Library
Farmington Community Library and The Optimist Club have provided us with a Free Little Library, packed with books for kids and we have decked it out with honeycombs to show our love for bees. During the month of May we will also have free seeds in the library, compliments of Tollgate Farms. Stop by any time and help yourself to books and seeds!
Pollinator Garden
For the love of all things pollinators, we are participating in No-Mow May and planting a Pollinator Garden. Keep an eye out and watch us grow!
Visual Journaling Series
Join Becky and Mary Lou on Wednesdays in May from 6 to 8 p.m. to reflect on the book Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Designed for writers and visual artists alike, these classes will prompt you to create work and demonstrate your personal strengths. Join us for one or all four sessions. First Friday, May 5, from 7-10pm join us for our May First Friday event. Tour Artists’ studios, contribute to a community art project, and learn about ongoing meetups and upcoming workshops. Enjoy live music and light refreshments.
Weekly Writers Group, Thursdays 6-8pm, ongoing Come every week or whenever you’re able. This drop-in group will focus on writers’ prompts and journaling to promote creativity. Led by Becky Burns. $5 weekly suggested donation.
