Skep Space, located at 33018 Grand River Avenue, offers several spaces for rent with varying sizes and amenities. All studios are currently rented. We are happy to offer a “Member Artist” program for drop-in rentals of our community room. For inquiries or to sign up to be a Member Artist, email hello@skepspace.org.
Member Artist Program
Membership is $40/mo and includes:
- Use of the community room for drop-in studio space
- Participation in monthly First Friday Open Studios to show/sell work
- Monthly Artist meetups and crit group
- Monthly Life Drawing sessions (coming soon)
- Discount on professional practice workshops
- Artists in all stages of their practice are welcome and valued
COMMUNITY ROOM (Two options)
- Available to Member Artists if the space is not booked for another event
- Skep Space will provide 2-6 foot foldable tables and several folding chairs
We ask that Member Artists follow the following guidelines:
- Member artists can use the community room whenever it is not booked. See calendar for bookings.
- Member artists may have a different experience each time they visit the space. Sometimes they will be alone in the Community Room. Sometimes others will be present in the space.
- Member artists will work cooperatively in the Community Room and leave it clean upon departure.
- Member artists will have to carry in and out their supplies each time. Skep Space cannot provide secure storage.
Skep Space is looking for workshop proposals. Artists will provide all materials and set cost per person to attend. Skep will provide space and marketing. Earnings will be split 50/50 between Artist and Skep Space so consider that when setting cost for your workshop. Please click the image above and complete the form to be considered. Resident Artist Studios
FIRST FLOOR/ FRONT ROOM (The Honeycomb): RENTED
- A bright, hexagon-shaped room with three windows in bay configuration that look out onto Riley Park/Grand River
- Space to be shared with Honeycomb Gallery with room divider

- Entry through Room two

Resident Artists enjoy the following:
- Have 24-hour access to the space
- Expected to participate in “First Friday” events (2024: 1/5, 2/2, 3/1, 4/5, 5/3, 6/7, 7/5, 8/2, 9/6, 10/4, 11/1, 12/6
- Participation in collaborative exhibits and shows (Art on the Grand is 6/1-2)
- Discounts on and early access to, workshops and sessions offered at Skep Space
- Resident artists may present workshops and will receive pay for their services
- Resident Artists will be featured on our website
- Resident Artists can choose to continue their stay, as long as they are in good standing, for an additional 6-month increment.
- Resident Artists are invited to decorate their space however they desire; the Incubator asks that they return it to a white wall upon departure from the space.
- Resident artists are invited to participate and sell their work in the Honeycomb Gallery
